Travel Grants Build Bridges
Kinder Ground has awarded travel grants to students looking to put their animal welfare knowledge to the test and to folks wanting to make sure they show up competent, capable and with compassion on an animal’s last day.

The Goal:
Remove Barriers to Learning How To Do Better
Funding provided: $22,500
The expense of travel can be a barrier for students gaining practical experience with animal welfare, and caregivers wanting to learn how to do better.
Kinder Ground offers travel grants of up to $1000 to cover the cost of travel and registration to meetings or trainings focused on animal welfare.
The Outcomes:
Opening Hearts & Minds
Kinder Ground travel grants prove that it is never too early or late to learn how to do better for animals in production.
Travel grants have been given to meat plant workers to attend the Humane Handling Institute (HH) Training and to students from The Ohio State competing in the AVMA’s Animal Welfare Assessment Contest
